Family

I am married to Jim.  We have four children: Michael,  Samuel, Anna-Lise, and Ella-Mae.  We live near Edmonton, Alberta.

Interests

I enjoy being home with my family and participating in  individual sports like swimming, skating, and hiking.
The children and I go downhill skiing together.   I also like getting and keeping things "organized"; however,
in the last few years, it seems I am too busy doing things to be able to keep them neat and tidy!

Volunteer Activities

Our children are in French Immersion at school.  I assist with school activities when possible.
In the past, I have been Chair of the School Council and sat on the Personnel Committee; Jim has been
on the Technology Committee and was instrumental in designing the school's technological environment.

I am active in The Catholic Women's League of Canada, as a Past President of the
Edmonton Diocesan Council and a former Officer of the Alberta-Mackenzie Provincial Council ,
and as Webmaster for both of those councils, plus British Columbia & Yukon Provincial Council and
Ontario Provincial Council.  I have also held positions at various levels in the League,
including Parish CWL Council President/Secretary/Treasurer/Convener and assistant to the Zone Chair.

I also participate in the Jackfish Lake Management Association, a group that encourages
sustainable development of the lake resources at Jackfish Lake, Carvel, Alberta.
I manage the JLMA web site .

Previous volunteer commitments included major involvement in Kenilworth Community League,
the St. Josaphat Sadochok (playschool) and several positions in the Figure 8 Skating Club.

Professional Life

I am a Librarian by profession (B.Sc.(1980), M.L.S. (1983); both from The University of Alberta)
and I very much enjoy the world of "information". Currently, I do freelance/contract work as a
Librarian/Information Specialist which keeps me active in the field while my priority is the family.
My areas of expertise in the information world include:  health sciences, science, technology, and engineering,
with a specialty in toxicology/risk analysis information resources.
